Ubuntu 15.04 released
by Tony Hill on April 25, 2015
Ubuntu 15.04(development code Vivid Verve) from Canonical is available for download. It brings less graphic novelties as expected, but they are more than welcome, as they increase productivity, reliability and security.
Among novelties of new version of open source operating system Ubuntu are updates for various hardware components, especially for 64-bit ARM processors, for both desktop and server versions. There is also somewhat improved automatic identification of printers connected via USB or for printers that are equipped with a network connection. We should also not overlook polished programming tools Ubuntu Developer Tools Centre, which is perfect for developing mobile software for tablet PCs and smart mobile phones Android.
On the GUI area, new Ubuntu brings a new function "always show", which eliminates display of annoying "dished" windows. Major changes in the field of graphics can be expected after release of graphical interface "Unity 8", as it will bring the same user experience regardless of where it will be used.
